Its only a change of time.

So. Its been...ohhh what...8ish months since my life turned upsidedown?
5ish months since graduating?
4 months since going home.
2 months since I was hired....
Feels like years since I've seen anyone from Geneseo or home.
But really...it doesnt seem like that much time has actually passed.
Kinda.
Isnt it weird how as you get older, time really does just speed up intensely? My parents used to warn me when I was younger, "enjoy it now, time only goes faster as you get older Lauren." It seemed completely impossible at the time, that the 3 hour car ride to Cape Cod in the summer would ever seem to take less then 125 billion years of anxious waiting. But it happened. Eventually driving 5 hours to Geneseo was nothing, and a weeks time could pass in what felt like 2 days.
I remember asking my mother for just 10 more minutes, as if 10 minutes was actually enough time to do anything. But when you're little, 10 min is enough time to finish your fairy adventure, or bury the hidden treasure, or summon the genie out of the old wine decanter.
I got to go apple picking the other day with some friends. The actual apple picking part wasnt as much fun as the wandering, tree climbing, tractor riding, picture taking part of it. There were so many little kids running around the petting zoo area, all celebrating some little girls birthday. Made me miss being little. The world is so fascinating when you re only 3 feet high and your imagination holds no bounds. When does that stop? I realized last summer playing with Tim's little sister that I had pretty much lost my imagination. She was off playing with Polar Bears and the Witch who turned her into a bunny, and I could only pretend to...pretend.

Right.
I guess all this 8-5:30 working is getting to me a little. I need to do something creative again. On a regular basis. I was asked to design our Holiday party invitations, which was great because I got to escape into the world of paper and color and design for a few hours, and I think what I ended up with turned out pretty great. Colors, make sense. Fonts, make sense. Design and flow and balance? totally. Numbers? No. Percentages and the stock market and wall street? mmmNope. I am not a number person. nope.
Going to BC a few weekends has also made me miss college a bit much. Mostly just the special way college allows for spontaneous fun to happen when least expected. Life is so PLANNED now.
But. Life is good. Boston is getting cold, but its still awesome. When I'm not at work, I'm not bored and usually entertained by some random thing or another. People watching in a city is a thousand times more entertaining then anywhere else. Sarah and mine's apartment is cute and European and our electric bill is $10 so who can complain?
MY one major complaint is that I have not gotten to dance really since I started working and its killing me a little.

Hows that for a random life update?
