yesterday turned out lovely. more than lovely in fact.
We ventured to Fiesole, which is a 10 min bus ride up the mountain to sheer beautiful bliss.
In the spirit of Valentines day we decided we'd go to Mercado Central, get some picnic foods and go have a picnic up the mountain. Best Idea ever. We got this (as Alex described it) "life changing" mozzarella cheese, and these other two amazing other kinds...i think Pecorillo? something like that, fresh crusty bread, really good (and expensive) salami, cherry tomatoes, some oil and vinegar, wine, packed it all up and headed on over. Upon getting off the bus and all being starving, we just sat on a bench and had our feast while our hands froze off, but damn it was good. Bit of a fail forgetting to bring a wine bottle opener, but whatevs. Then we just wandered around, and saw the town. Everywhere you looked there was A View. You could see all of Florence from everywhere, and it was clear and sunny and gorgeous outside. I found the house where i someday plan on living if God loves me lol. It was little and adorable and had a beautiful garden with a stone walk way and levels and an AMAZING view of the city and the sunset. Def fell in love.
We then wandered down to the Chocolate Fair, and Italian hot chocolate is a gift directly from heaven. Its just creamy and rich and so warm and gooey. mm...
then we wandered back up and watched the sunset, and it was beautiful and romantic. lol.
Then we came back and the boys made us girls mac and cheese and it was simple and good, and then despite mine and alex's better judgement went out and paraded around with everyone shouting "says I" and being ridiculous. andddd then we went to bed.
overall, that was the best Valentines day ive ever had.
sorry tim lol.
