My Intercultural professor told us today that apparently Italy thinks its England because of how much its been raining lately. I guess March isnt usually this wet and cold. Intercultural is an interesting class...I generally enjoy going to it, despite my not wanting to do ANYTHING when its raining/thursday. Other than his being nice to look at, he always has something interesting to share and gives us revenant activities/discussions to have during class. We've been doing a lot of self reflection, and last class an today he had us work with a partner, and we had to answer questions about ourselves that would tell us what our core values were and the other person would pick out the key terms from your answer and write each value on a post-it note. it was interesting because you never really think about this things in any seriousness. everyone ended up with about 20-30, and then he made us take away 14 (7 at a time) until we had about 7 left. and then we had to put those in order of most important to least, which was pretty hard to do.
I also learned that when Albanians nod their head, it means No, not Yes in their culture, so when they migrate here it gets extremely confusing for them and others. He has his Albanian friend come in and talk to us, because hes a linguist and helps other immigrants understand whats going on.
Funny Note: I saw a man driving his Vespa today with a giant thing of toilet paper rolls sitting in front of him. It was amusing.
Other News: Spring break is soon! Tim and I may be also going to Venice for two days before we go to Sorrento, which im kinda excited about. But we gotta figure out how much more it would cost to do that. Because i really do want to see Venice.
Also, Alex and I are planning out Sicily/Rome, which im also excited about because Sicily is one of Those Places i really wanted to get to. and since im not getting to Greece, Sicily is something i like NEED to do to feel accomplished.
Ive also recently become obsessed with Photoshop, so if youre getting sick of me fiddling around with pictures and posting them...im sorry.
So to conclude...Eeww Midterms in a week, YAY TIM IN 9 DAYS, boo rain, YAY SARAH IN 6 DAYS, andd...boo alex leaving me for a week. you better take pictures. lots of them. :)
